Description
“Stay Down” is a combination of two obedience commands: “Down” (where the dog lies down on its elbows) and “Stay” (where the dog remains in position until released). Together, it instructs the dog to lie down and hold that position calmly until given permission to move. The dog is cued to go into a down position. The handler gives the “stay” cue (with an open palm hand signal). The dog maintains the down position for a set duration or until released with a cue like “Okay” or “Free.”
